MAKES KNOW SINCE

This page features a body of work, Makes Know Since that I created during my residency at the Mayflower Mobile Gallery in the Benson Arts District of Omaha, Nebraska. I transformed the inside of a forty-two foot trailer including an installation of wall-mounted, suspension, and free standing sculptures.

This was a multi-faceted approach for activism with this project. I used solar power on sunny days to offset our coal generated electricity. But my main focus was to develop content by working with an abundance of salvaged materials, in particular with fossil fuel by-products such as plastics, waxes, asphalt, and adhesives. I combined these synthetic materials with organic ones as a metaphor to portray how single use waste entangles the environment, endangers ecosystems, and contributes to global warming
